The first pieces of silverware were locked in the cabinets for 2019 on Saturday afternoon, as both the current Canterbury Premier League (CPL) front runners took home the Porritt Cup spoils.
In a repeat of the 2019 women’s final, Carlton Redcliffs and Harewood battled out for the honours. Both sides were missing a number of U18 representatives, but still had plenty of talent on display.
Carlton Redcliffs raced out to a five point lead, with field goals counting for double, before Harewood got on the board thanks to young gun Emily Bowden to see a halftime score of 6-2.
