When Gareth Greenfield first started umpiring hockey as a youngster in intermediate he never could have dreamed it would take him all around the world.
Greenfield who also played premier hockey for more than a decade before giving it up five years ago to concentrate on umpiring, said he believes it’s his passion and love of the game that’s got him where he is now.
As an international hockey umpire who has officiated at two Commonwealth Games, Greenfield was also appointed to umpire the semi-final and then the final of the last ever Champions Trophy in the Netherlands in 2018.
