It’s not surprising Aaron Ford has spent most of his life around elite hockey. It’s in his blood.
Growing up in Ashburton the Canterbury Cats coach got into the game because his father Ross and older brother Mark played. When Mark started playing for Canterbury that was all the inspiration his younger brother needed to follow in his footsteps.
“I was just this young kid playing in Ashburton and when Mark started playing for Canterbury, I thought I want to do that too.
“I’ve always looked up to him and he was definitely my inspiration back then to play for Canterbury.
“He’s still my inspiration today.”
