Our first development programme of the year, Hockey Accelerators – Pre-season Foundation is back again for 2020! The pre-season programme is a great chance for athletes to get back in touch after the summer break. The programme will run for 6 weeks and focus on the development of basic skills, positional understanding and tactical concepts through the use of repetition and small game based activities.
Foundation training groups are determined by both age and experience. Below are details around the age brackets and training times for each group:
Level 1: Year 5-6 (school years)
Train at Nunweek Park on Wednesdays, 4:15-5:15pm. Starting Wednesday the 29th of January & finishing on the 11th of March.
Level 2: Year 7-8 (school years)
Train at Nunweek Park on Wednesdays, 5:15-6:15pm. Starting Wednesday the 29th of January & finishing on the 11th of March.
Level 3: Year 9-13 (school years)

Please note, there will be NO SESSIONS during the week of February 24th-28th due to the National Masters Tournament and Pro League Training's.
Specialised goalkeeper instruction is also available during these sessions. We'll help keepers identify their strengths and weaknesses and put them through plenty of goalkeeper specific activities. They'll also be given plenty of feedback throughout each session to help them learn the HOW's and WHY's of effective goalkeeping. We cater for all levels of abilities!
The price per participant is $150.00, which covers coaching from experienced top level players and coaches, a Hockey Accelerators training top and use of facilities. An invoice will be sent to all registered players in late January.
Participants will need their hockey gear: stick, shin pads, mouth guards, appropriate clothing to train in and drinks bottles etc. Keepers should provide their own gear.
All up, Hockey Accelerators Pre-Season Foundation Programme is a great opportunity for young athletes to take advantage of the pre season and learn from experienced coaches as they have fun and enjoy the learning that will help them develop as hockey players in the future.
