Hockey Accelerators - Fast Track

Author: Canterbury Hockey  /  Categories: News  /

Hockey Accelerators Fast Track, is Canterbury Hockey's post season skills development program. Fast Track is designed to give young hockey players the chance to improve their skills during what is considered the 'off season'. Those players who have not had enough hockey in 2018, can sign up to our five week program and work on improving their skills, fitness and hockey knowledge.

Fast Track training groups are determined by both age and experience. Below are details around the age brackets and training times for each group:

Level 1: Year 5-6 (school years)
Train at Nunweek Park on Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30pm. Starting Wednesday the 17th of October & finishing on the 14th of November.

Level 2: Year 7-8 (school years)
Train at Nunweek Park on Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30pm. Starting Wednesday the 17th of October & finishing on the 14th of November.

Level 3: Year 9-13 (school years)
Train at Marist Park on Thursdays, 4:30-5:30pm. Starting Thursday the 18th of October & finishing on the 15th of November.

Specialist goalkeeping instruction is also available. We'll help keepers identify strengths and weaknesses to help take their game to the next level. Plenty of reps of specific skills, combined with feedback designed to help with save selection and decision making, will take keepers through the HOW's and WHY's of effective goalkeeping. We cater for all levels of abilities!

The price per participant is $125.00, which covers coaching from experienced top level players, a Hockey Accelerators training top and use of facilities.

Participants will need their hockey gear: stick, shin pads, mouth guards, appropriate clothing to train in and drinks bottles etc. Keepers should provide their own gear.

All up, Hockey Accelerators: Fast Track is a great opportunity for young athletes to take advantage of the off season and learn from experienced coaches as they have fun and enjoy the learning that will help them develop as hockey players in the future.
