UMPIRING NEWS

Canterbury Hockey Association are very proud of our umpires, some of whom have officiated at national and international competitions. The start of 2018 has been very busy for our senior umpires, with several of them being appointed to some major tournaments at home and further afield. Here are some of our recent successes:

Strong representation by Canterbury officials at the National U21 Tournament

April 29th - May 5th 2018

Canterbury was well represented at the National U21 tournament in Hamilton not only by our players, but also by our officials. We were delighted to have so many Canterbury umpires selected for this tournament - this is a great reward for all their hard work. Congratulations to:

Brodie Greenfield - Technical Assistant
Karen Bennett - Umpires Manager
Rachel Murphy - Umpire
Ben Grant - Umpire

What a great inspiration for all our junior umpires!

Lyndsey received a bronze service medal for all his impressive contribution to Canterbury Hockey over the years, whilst Rachel received the Most Promising Umpire award for the 2017 season. Well done to both of you for such well-deserved accolades!
